GPhC Appeals
General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Appeals
There are a number of decisions by the General Pharmaceutical Council that are appealable. These include:
- A refusal to enter a pharmacist or pharmacy technician to the Register
- A refusal for restoration of a person’s entry to the Register, where the decision does not relate to a person’s fitness to practise
- A refusal to renew an entry of a Registrant
- Various decisions made by the Fitness to Practise Committee.
GPhC appeals are governed by strict procedural and statutory rules that must be adhered to. There are potentially serious consequences for pharmacists who do not comply with these rules and/or case management directions. This includes:
- drawing adverse inference;
- refusing to admit evidence; and/or
- awarding costs.
